Poison Ivy - Copic on 9x12 Bristol Board
As the summer conventions fast approach, one of the fun things to do, other than meeting/catching up with rad people, is the request for artwork. The possibilities are endless as I’ve learned at each and every attendance. Like what you may ask? I once had someone ask me to draw them a donkey at a comic con. Not Spider-man, not Batman, just a regular Donkey. As I am sure, it keeps us artists on our toes to draw outside the painted on body suits of the superhero world. The comic convention sketch, as it is often referred to, allows the opportunity to get our hands on characters that under normal circumstances, we would not get paid to illustrate. To all the supporters of purchasing original art at the shows, I thank you! For a list of upcoming shows, just click here.
Catwoman Returns
So like 99% of Americans out there, I too anxiously await the new Christopher Nolan low budget, minimal release flick “The Dark Night Rises”. I still can’t get everything about the new Catwoman. Yes I said everything. Costume, casting, character involvement. I guess much like the Heath thing I didn’t get it and was glad that I didn’t because I was impressed by it all. For now though, I will close my eyes and remember the best Catwoman to date, and that’s the one from Returns! I am Catwoman. Hear me roar.
Mad Men Sunday? - Peggy Olson
Yet again I bring you Mad Men Sunday on a Monday. Have been catching the encore later show and hence making it harder to jam a piece with enough time. This week was inspired by the tough, answers to no one (well I guess only to Don) Peggy Olson. She was ready to, dare I say it, move in with a guy who didn’t “put a ring on it”. Obviously she is rocking the iconic Rosie the Riveter pose in an effort to show her strength. Peggy, YOU GO GIRL!

A copic doodle of everyone’s favorite office redhead.
Mad Men Sunday: Week Two
I can clearly say that Campbell would not survive a fight club. A quick digi doodle.
A quick 30 min. ink wash of the Bride of Frank for the Art Inspires FB fellows. Looking forward to the next one!
Mad Men Sundays!
Yep, it has been a while since I have taken up daily theme arts and I am hoping that this will be the start of some regular postings. Been glued every Sunday to the ever so magic of the Mad Men and I figured I can crank out some doodles as I watch the show. This weeks add is none other than Megan Draper. Yes that song still echoes me nuts and I think there was a dance, maybe? With time I’m sure Draper will put her out like a smoke. It’s a shame, I know… Anyhoot, Sunday isn’t going to be the only day that I make daily, might be bringing back an old blog regular. Stay tooned!
A tribute piece for Monica Gallagher’s Lipstick and Malice created at this years Staple!. Nona La Bete, a model that dabbles in assassin work. Best of both worlds! Pick up this rad series at her official etsy store. My apologies for blurry camera phone action.
